I'm sure all of us who line up on Saturday mornings for bread and sweets will appreciate it all the more knowing that Leandre has his slow living mantra protected.
My grandfather used to harvest wheat, share it with the miller who would grind it, then bake off loaves for those who had no ovens. The whole village worked together and it's nice to know that this style of community spirit is still live in rural France ❤️ Thank you for sharing, Tamsin.
I love this story of following your dreams and the dreamy cakes he produces. It makes me feel very nostalgic as my dad was a baker and a master of his craft. I do worry about him not wearing a shirt though, but it’s definitely a talking point! 😁
I took these photos in 2022 in the middle of the cannicule when it was already 30 degrees at 10am, stripping off was all he could do to help keep cool!
Thank you Will... just discovered your persimmon vinegar! I have a persimmon tree and never know what to do with them so look forward to not wasting them this year. Merci à toi!
I loved this piece. Balm for the soul. And as someone who’s spent many a delighted Saturday at Nerac market, it meant even more.
Balm for the soul is a good way to describe Leandre’s bucolic lifestyle!

Love this so much. What an inspiration to slow down and live the life you've imagined.
The result of being focused ❤️

A beautiful nostalgic picture and certainly, I feel very fortunate to live in a place where the community is still very much alive.
