Early mornings, heat and manual labour aren’t good matches for writing. However, this is where life has me, sandwiched between the Yoga mat, dog walks, heavy-duty gardening and humidity, which have turned my brain to mush. But a happy mush as we are now on day 26 of 40 days of Yoga & Meditation Sadhana and the benefits outweigh the lethargy.
I am very thankful to those who felt called to practice with me as it is an absolute joy to wake up and start the day together when only the birds are awake, as we appreciate the dawn chorus and this moment for ourselves.
We have gone from the excitement of starting a new challenge, through the tiredness of earlier mornings, to increased energy, followed by peace and stability.
I’m finding I am more focused, energised and uplifted from daily teaching, as I had become a bit of a pottery hermit. Everyone else has commented on how they are managing their lives better. Less rush and calmer, as the style of the practice provides physical and mental space to tap into the creative flow that’s bubbling up.
With this increased energy I have been clearing the unruly jungle surrounding the house, and as I strim and mow I can feel the lightness and inspiration from a whole new approach to my day. The garden is beginning to sow seeds of possibility again, as I ponder the rebuilding of the fallen wall and find new eyes for a different approach.
And still, we have 2 more weeks to go for morning Yoga and Meditation, with everyone being a testament to willpower and well in the groove of the habit of early practice… with special acknowledgement to the UK crowd who rise at 4 am.
So, if you couldn’t join us on this occasion, there will be another opportunity soon, possibly with a later start to accommodate the UK. Please send me any questions you may have or register your interest to my email here
