Dear All,
Several months have passed since I set up my pottery, and all I can say is I am having fun.
It’s taken time experimenting with ideas, testing clay bodies and slip colours, throwing larger forms, splashing on slip or scrawling sgraffito designs across the surface. And the best moments have come when I am carefree and not precious.
I’ve been working on a couple of design ideas based on traditional English Slipware and French Jaspe Pottery and these are the results from my last kiln load…..
It’s slow as I am yet to have a kiln at home, but now I have a sense of where I am going, I am working on new forms and shapes to build upon what I have begun…
and I can’t wait to share more soon!
The greatest lessons from the wheel so far are…
Beauty comes by accident
Learning is a joy
Take the time you need to develop
A tres bientot!
Much love,
Tamsin x
