“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions”.
Albert Einstein
Vision boards have energy. They act as thoughts in motion that become activated once images are placed into the frame. There after, all that is needed is to keep your vision in sight and your direction on course. The alchemy of the subconscious will then provide you with the support you need for a new reality to grow…

In 2008 when my mum passed away, I was left with an overwhelming sense of how short life was and wondering where to place the tangible love that remained. At the time, I was working in a corporate job that suddenly felt meaningless in the after math of this change.
It was my wish to create a meaningful life where I could redirect my love and rediscover my passions. The vision board I made was based on things I loved most, Yoga, Cooking and Photography. France was not on my vision board, but not out of sight as my mum had bought a retirement house there.
The first change was I stopped going to supermarkets and started to get a seasonal veggie box from a nearby farm, I also joined a yoga studio and their weekly classes led me to take my teacher training in India. With my camera as my constant companion.
Within three years of creating the vision board, I landed in SW France at my mum’s house to place my love for her into establishing Little French Retreat where I hosted Yoga retreats for ten years, cooking, teaching and taking photographs.
And again in 2021 with the complications of the pandemic, I asked myself what else could I do if I didn’t teach yoga. I had trained as a craft designer with pottery as a specialist subject, so I created a vision board filled with images to reignite the artist within me. There were images of artist studios, paintings, road trips, my beloved dogs, beautiful gardens, structural house plants and one image of pots.
Three years on and my house has acquired several structural plants and a mass of aloe vera, my garden is my sacred space as I mow a pathway through the field of wild orchids and long grass, the dogs and I have taken various road trips together and my studio which has been in place since last September is filled with paint brushes that decorate clay surface rather than canvas. Even the colours I have been testing for my ceramics are similar to the paintings I pinned to my vision board which I had not made the connection to before.
Vision boards become a reality.
The first step is to know what you wish to invite into your life…..
How to create a vision board …
What do you wish to create?
What is on your mind? Do you want to start a new business? find a life partner? Get fit and healthy? Move house or country? Do you want to retrain and learn a new life skill? Do you want to be surrounded by people or do you seek solace?Create a page and pin images or cutouts
On Pinterest or a large piece of blank paper, scissors, glue, magazine cuttings, postcards and photographs.Concentrate on how you want to feel
Find words and affirmations that reflect this.Bring your awareness to Interior and external factors
Think about the aspects within yourself, your environments, health and community, that you wish to invite into your life. They can be specific wishes or a broader approach that will eventually encompass your needs without being pigeonholed. Your vision can evolve with time and details you forget the first time round can be added later.Choose one thing you want the most, without judgement and obstacles. Maybe a talent you have never realised or a new skill to acquire, but don’t let your current reality or beliefs, such as age, money, location, and commitments be a block. They are immaterial in a vision.
Keep your focus on your direction.
Reflect on your vision board periodically and notice when changes have occurred.
